الكلمه Agave هى نوع من الصبار الامريكى يندرج تحت هذا الاسم اصناف كثيره تتميز عن بعضها فى اللون والحجم وانواع الاشواك التى تخص كل فصيل بلون وطول ومدى حده الشوكه التى توجد على طرف اوراق الصبار وعلى حوافها فمنها الاوراق السميكه والطويله المنتصبه للاعلا ومنها الملتويه والمنحنيه نحو الاسفل مكونه اشكال غايه فى الروعه ..... والمعنى الادق الرائج فى منطقتنا لهذه الفصائل هو الصبره المره والتى تنتشر فى حدائق البيوت والحدائق العامه والشوارع والكثير من الصبره المره تزرع فى المقابر والمدافن فهى تعيش وتحتمل كل الاجواء ولا تحتاج الى رعايه خاصه الا اذا كان المراد المحافظه عليها بطريقه صحيحه ومعظم تلك الصباريات ومنها الصبره المره تزهر ازهار جميله وهذه الانواع تحتاج الى وقت كبير فمنها ما يزهر لاول مره بعد مرور عشره سنوات او اكثر مع ملاحظه ان زهره هذه الاصناف من الحجم الكبير وتعيش الزهره عده اسابيع ..وان لم تخوننى الذاكره فهذه الاصناف كانت تستعملها جداتنا فى عمليات فطام الاطفال والتى يوضع حزء من الصباره بعد قشطه على المكان الذى يرضع منه الطفل الحليب فيشعر بمراره وتكون هذه اولى خطوات الفطام .... كاد الله فى عون اطفالنا فى الماضى على تجرع المر اما الان فنحن نلعق المر صباحا مساء بالسنتنا واذاننا واعيننا رحم الله تلك الايام... ........ وهذه الصباره المره التى بين ايدينا هى من الانواع النادره بطيئه النمو ولكنها تنتج بنيات لها اوراق واسعه وسميكه يميل لونها للازرق مع عدد قليل من الحسك وهى تنمو بشكل متوازن ومنتظم تحتاج الى المياه بانتظام خلال موسم النمو على ان تجف بين كل عمليه رى واخرى
